Welcome to the KiDS' RooM!


young readerThe Florence C. Center Young Readers' Room, also known as the Children's Room, is located on the lower level of the library.

The children's collection includes print, electronic, audio, and visual materials for children from birth through 6th grade.

In addition, the Children's Room offers regular activities, such as Story Time for preschoolers, Make 'n Take crafts, contests, a Summer Reading Club, and other goodies.

Preschool Story Time



Kids age 3 - kindergarten are invited to drop in and join Miss Carrie-Anne for stories, songs, and fun on Tuesday mornings from 10:30-11:00 or Wednesday afternoons from 12:30-1:00.

Story Time Guidelines

Story Time is not held when there is no school in Litchfield due to holidays, vacations, snow closings or delays.

 

Pajama Story Time



Families are invited to join Miss Carrie-Anne for an evening Story Time on the 1st Thursday night of each month at 6:30 p.m. Children are encouraged to wear their jammies, and bring a snuggly blanket and their favorite stuffed animal.

Book Bunch



book bunch image courtesy of imagechef.comBook Bunch is a book group for kids in grades 3-5 that meets the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 4:00 p.m. The group discusses the book, completes a quick activity, and begins the next book.  Copies of the book are available in the Young Readers' Room.

 

Page Turners



Page Turners is a book group for tweens in grades 5-7 that meets the 2nd Thursday of each month at 2:30 p.m. The group discusses their chosen title, completes a quick activity, and begins the next book.  Copies of the book are available in the Young Readers' Room.

Transportation from LMS to the library is available.

 

Other Programs and Events
